Casseleen “Cassie” Plumley Freeman, 88, of South Eighth Street in DuBois and formerly of Van Woert Street in Sykesville, died Friday at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on Nov. 17, 1921 in Hager, Lincoln County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Jane (Adkins) Plumley.
She was retired from the DuBois Nursing Home, where she worked in the housekeeping department. Prior to, she had worked for Loree Footwear in Big Run for many years.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and family as well as cooking, sewing, doing word search puzzles and Shopping.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her children, Dorsel Baker of Hager, WV; Mrs. Richard (Juanita) LaBorde of Sykesville; and David Freeman and his wife, Debbie of Reynoldsville.
She is survived by a sister, Velora Elkins of Hamlin, WV and a brother, Joshua Plumley of Hager WV. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Freeman, four brothers, two infant daughters, two infant great great-grandchildren and a sister and granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Siple officiating. Burial will be in Sykesville Cemetery.
