CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Aug. 16, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Jenna Jean Grumblatt, 27, of East Park Avenue, DuBois. He stated that Grumblatt is wanted for failure to appear at arraignment court on May 17, 2006.

On March 23, 2006, Officer Steve Maholtz of the DuBois City Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Grumblatt with simple assault and retail theft.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Maholtz states that on May 15, 2006, the DuBois City Police were dispatched to the Sheetz store on Brady Street for a report of individuals fighting with an employee.

At arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who was a store clerk. The victim reported that Grumblatt was alleged to have been observed concealing items on her and then leaving the store without paying.

Grumblatt then allegedly assaulted the victim, when the victim attempted to detain Grumblatt. The victim recovered a purse that was dropped by Grumblatt. The purse contained Grumblatt’s driver license and various papers with Grumblatt’s name. Grumblatt fled in 1993 Ford Sedan.

A preliminary hearing was held on April 21, 2006, at which time the charges were held for court. On May 17, 2006, Grumblatt failed to appear for arraignment court and a warrant was issued for Grumblatt’s arrest.

Grumblatt is described as follows a white female who stands 5-feet, 5-inches tall. She has brown eyes and hair.

Anyone with knowledge of Grumblatt’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crimestoppers at (800)-376-4700. All calls to Crimestoppers are confidential.
