Grant Writing Workshops to be Held in September

PHILIPSBURG – Cen-Clear Child Services will host a Grant Writing Workshop Series on Sept. 8, 9, and 10.  Mike DuBose and Ginny Byrd Porter from Research Associates of Columbia, South Carolina will be the featured workshop speakers.  The Workshops are sponsored by Cen-Clear Child Services, Clearfield-Jefferson Drug-Free Communities Coalition, Clearfield County Planning and Community Development, and Centre County Community Foundation.

The Sept. 8 workshops is entitled “Introduction to Grant Writing.”  Designed for both beginners as well as advanced grant writers, the workshop will provide attendees with a thorough understanding of the grant development process. 

The workshop on Sept. 9 is entitled “Grants Administration.”  Participants will learn about the financial aspects of their grant, when to use consultants and/or contract services, and ways to conduct program evaluation. 

The final workshop on Sept. 10 is devoted to “Program Sustainability,” and will include ways to maintain a viable program after initial grant monies expire. 

The cost for each workshop is $5 per person, and lunch is included.  Participants may register for any or all of the workshops, but advanced registration is required.  All workshops will be held at Cen-Clear Child Services’ Administrative Offices located on US Route 322 West in Philipsburg (next to True Value Hardware).  To obtain a registration form for the workshop contact Rex Lettie or Laura Bordas at 814-342-5678 no later than Aug. 13.
