Police Report: Ridgway PSP

– Police reported a death/suicide that occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Highland Township, Elk County. A known 65-year-old Hermitage male’s death is under investigation. No suspicious circumstances exist.

– Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 9:20 p.m. Saturday along state Route 219 in Horton Township, Elk County. A 39-year-old Ridgway man was operating a motor vehicle and stopped for a traffic violation. He was determined to have been reportedly under the influence. He was transported to the Elk Regional Health Center for a blood test. Charges are currently pending at this time.

– Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 3:40 a.m. Saturday along state Route 255, south of Johnsonburg, in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A 22-year-old Ridgway man was operating his vehicle, when he pulled over and placed it in park. He subsequently turned on its hazard lights. Once troopers approached his vehicle, they determined the man to be under the influence. He was transported to the Elk Regional Health Center for a blood test and late determined to be over the legal limit. Charges are currently pending.

– Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 5 a.m. Sunday along state Route 948 about one mile north of Kimmel Road in Fox Township, Elk County. A 27-year-old Manassas man was stopped for committing a traffic violation. Further investigation reportedly revealed he was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the Elk Regional Health Center for a blood test. Charges are to be filed through the district court.

– Police reported an incident of underage drinking at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Ridgway Township, Elk County. Known Ridgway males were reportedly coming from an underage drinking party. At arrival, it was determined that they were found consuming alcoholic beverages. The incident is still under investigation. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
