Karen M. (Sebulsky) Vancas, 59, of Houtzdale, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at 8:40 AM at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1951 in Johnstown the daughter of the late Robert J. and Eleanor M. (Shedlock) Sebulsky.
Karen graduated from the Blacklick Valley High School in 1968 and attended the Electronic Computer Programming Institute in Cleveland, OH. Karen was a decorative artist and craft painter. Beginning in 1990 she made and decorated crafts and attended many area craft shows.
Karen was a homemaker and worked for 10 years at the Philipsburg Riverside, she was involved and active with the Houtzdale Recreation League for many years.
On July 25, 1970 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, Karen married John S. Vancas who survives her. She is also survived by a daughter and son, Stacy Socoski and her husband Corey of Houtzdale and Jason Vancas and his wife the former Janel Hawkins of Altoona. Two grandchildren survive, Brock and Hannah Vancas of Altoona.
Karen is survived by a brother, Robert Sebulsky and his wife Marcia of Bedford, OH and a number of nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
