CLEARFIELD – The Arm wrestling USA PA championships were held Saturday at the David H. Litz Grove Stage at the Clearfield County Fair. The skills of amateur
competitors were showcased in several rounds of competition. Men’s Classes featured in the contest included: Featherweight (under 144), Lightweight (145 -169), Middleweight (170 – 193), Light Heavyweight (194 – 219), Heavyweight (220 & Above). Women’s Classes consisted of: Lightweight (144 & under), and Open division (Above 145).
The event began at 1:00 p.m. and lasted throughout the day with each round open to new competitors and final matches taking place at 4 p.m. The first and second place winners in each division were: Kaleb Nearhood and Dylan Polites in Featherweight, Scott Koenig and Brian Malek in Lightweight, Scott Koening and Eric Burnsworth in Middleweight, Derek Deist and George Delarme in Light Heavyweight, and David Eyer and Donny White in Heavyweight. The winners in the women’s divisions were Jordan Fairman in the Lightweight group and Lynnette Derrick, winner of the open division, who also beat Fairman in a challenging final match.
Winners in each division received trophies and were invited to represent their area in upcoming armwrestling events.
