PHILIPSBURG – On Monday, the Philipsburg-based State Police announced a crime prevention initiative.
Cpl. Joseph G. Cigich, of the Philipsburg barracks, said they urge the pubic to lock their doors and remove the keys while leaving a vehicle unattended.
He said they should follow the previous routine regardless if they’re leaving their vehicle for a short or long period of time.
Cigich also said they should do so not only when parked in a public lot, such as a shopping area, but also when parked in their residential driveway.
Cigich said by following those guidelines, residents can prevent the theft of personal items as well as their vehicle.
