Alex Angstadt, a sophomore majoring in meteorology at the Pennsylvania State University DuBois Campus, has been elected president of the Student Government Association. As president, Angstadt will chair on numerous committees concerning the campus. During his freshmen year, Alex was elected as a First Year Senator in the Student Government Association. He traveled to Harrisburg for Capitol Day, where he met with state Representatives concerning the allocation of state money for Penn State students, and was introduced onto the house floor by state Rep. Camille “Bud” George. Alex was chosen to be a dancer for THON 2010, and traveled with the Honors Program to the Grand Canyon, where he and English Professor Dr. James May hiked the canyon in one day. Alex, a 2009 graduate of Clearfield Area High Schoo,l is son of Barry and Peggy Angstadt of Clearfield and the grandson of the late Fredrick and Imo Jean Angstadt of Clearfield, and the late Robert A. and Leona Holden of Treasure Lake, DuBois.
