Robert A. Thomas, 74 of Clearfield died on July 13, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1935 in Clearfield, a son of the late Charles Burton Thomas, Sr. and Ruth Avanel (Rowles) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas retired from The Progressive Publishing Co. after many years of employment.
He was a member of the Third Ward Hose Company and the Lawrence Township Fire Co.
He also was involved with model railroading and was an avid photographer.
He is survived by two sisters:
Mildred S. Hanson Hyde
Kathleen Thomas Clearfield
And numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother C. Burton Thomas, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Letscher and Rev. Susan Williamson, Mr. Thomas’ niece, officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11:00 a.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield or to any Volunteer Fireman’s Association.
