Mary A. Wells Swanson, age 63, of West Sheridan Avenue in DuBois, PA died Friday, July 9, 2010 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born on November 21, 1946 in DuBois, PA. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucy (Smiley) Wells.
She was a 1964 graduate of DuBois Area High School.
On October 6, 1973 at Salem United Methodist Church, she married Dathan Swanson. He survives.
She lived in DuBois, PA for the past 31 years. Prior to that, she lived in Kersey for 5 years. She retired from the DuBois Regional Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department. Previous to that, she had worked at the DuBois Holiday Inn for 20 years and worked at Rolo Jensen for 11 years.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She was the treasurer for the New Salem Cemetery for many years. She enjoyed country music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and make everyone happy. She enjoyed taking bus trips with her husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Lucille Wells of DuBois, PA, one nephew, Keith Wells and his wife, Gale and two nieces, Mrs. David (Mary Ann) Himes and Mrs. Keith (Lisa) McCartney, all of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Wells and an infant brother, William Wells.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Howe officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
