Five Injured in July Fourth Accident

SNYDER TOWNSHIP –   A July 4 accident resulted in five people receiving treatment at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

A 2003 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Jacob Rakvi, 18 of Brockway, was stopped on Westville Road at the intersection of US Route 219 when he then entered path of the 2005 Buick Rendevous driven by John MacIntyre, 67 of Leesburg, FL. MacIntyre veered to the left in an attempt to avoid impact.  The front of the Hyundai hit the front right door of the Buick.  The Buick then rotated 90 degrees before getting a flat tire.  It then overturned onto it’s left side and continued to rotate clockwise before coming to a final stop facing east in the south bound lane of US Route 219. 

Victoria Eckert, 58 of Birdsboro, was wearing her seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries.  Amanda Logan 36 of Blackwood, NJ, suffered moderate injuries and was wearing her seat belt.  Chyana Mojica, 39 of Accocreek, MD, also suffered moderate injuries.  Deborah MacIntyre, 55 of Leesburg, FL complained of pain and a 10-year old girl suffered minor injuries.  All passengers were in the Buick Rendevous. 

Brockway Volunteer Fire Department extracted the driver and passengers from the vehicle. 

Amserv ambulance also assisted at the scene.
