PHILILPSBURG – Police are asking for hep in finding a suspect involved in an attempted robbery that occurred on June 25 at 10 p.m. in front of the Philipsburg Towers on Front Street.
The state police in were called to the scene of an attempted robbery where an elderly resident of the Towers was attacked as he attempted to enter his apartment building. Police say the man was punched in the side of the head and the assailant attempted to steal his chain wallet from his pocket/belt loop. The chain held, however, and the assailant fled empty handed along Front Street.
The assailant is described only as having dark clothing. Anyone who might have seen anything unusal in the area around 10 p.m. on Front Street should contact the State Police at Philipsburg.
