Robert T. Schultz, 70 of Clearfield, passed away on June 24, 2010 at his residence.
Born on Sept. 15, 1939 in Clearfield, he was the son of Thomas H. and Roxanna (Hoyt) Schultz.
A graduate of Clearfield Area High School, Mr. Schultz went on to serve in the United States Army.
He was employed as a machinist at Johnson Machine, retiring in 2004 after twenty years of service. Prior to that, he had been employed by the former Piper Aircraft and as a security guard for TruHart Security.
Mr. Shultz was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Clearfield and was also a member of the Clearfield Elks, B.P.O.E. #540.
Mr. Schultz served as a volunteer with the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging – Meals on Wheels program. He had also served as a volunteer with the Clearfield Little League for nearly ten years.
Mr. Schultz is survived by his wife, Catherine L. “Kitty” (Johnston) Schultz, whom he married on May 20, 1967 at The Presbyterian Church in Clearfield. He is also survived by two sons: Robert Scott Schultz and his fiancée Beth Simon, both of Bellefonte and Brian Thomas Schultz and fiancée Susan Lewis, both of Curwensville; three grandchildren: Alayna R. Lewis, Jordan T. Schultz and Kylie R. Schultz; a brother, James A. Schultz and his wife Linda of Clearfield and a half sister, Evelyn Zitzelberger of Clearfield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lois J. Hoover and a brother in-law, Edward Zitzelberger.
Funeral services will be held on June 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, with Rev. Rodger Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received on June 28 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 until the time of services.
