- Police are investigating an incident of arson that occurred at Hosak Camp on Trout Run Road in Benezette Township, Elk County. Gerald L. Hosack, of Ocala, Florida, reported that someone started a fire that destroyed a small outbuilding on his property. The estimated damage is currently unavailable. - Police reported a two-vehicle accident that occurred on state Route 255, 131 feet west of Laurel Estates in Fox Township of Elk County. Dale Bille, 67 of St. Marys, was stopped in the northbound lane behind four other vehicles waiting for a car to make a left-hand turn. A woman from James Creek, was traveling in the northbound lane and did not react quickly enough to stop before hitting the 2006 Ford F-350 driven by Bille. The woman’s 2001 Chrysler 300 hit the rear of the Ford. Both vehicles were able to be moved from the roadway and taken to a parking lot. Neither driver was injured. The Ford received minor damage and the Chrysler sustained disabling damage as a result of the accident and was towed by Cunningham’s of St. Marys. The James Creek resident was charged with violation PAVC section 3361-Driving vehicle at a safe speed in District Court 59-3-03.
- Police are investigating a burglary that occurred on Jude Drive in Jones Drive of Jones Township, Elk County. Mark K. Stolburg, 52 of Ridgway, told police that someone entered his camp and removed various items.
