The department will host a public meeting to gather comments at 9 a.m. on June 30, in Hearing Room 2 of the Keystone Building, 400 North St., Harrisburg, PA 17120.
Under DCED’s proposed changes, the department would reduce the state allocation and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allocation to the Community Action Partnership of Mercer County and the Community Action Partnership of Cambria County, respectively, and shift those funds to other partners in each county to meet the demand for weatherization services.
The state also intends to add the Housing Authority of the County of Butler as a subgrantee to meet demand in that county.
Other changes define how weatherization workers should address certain situations they may encounter, ensuring residents in need receive better service.
Copies of the proposed state’s weatherization assistance plan and its Recovery Act-funded counterpart are available at www.newpa.com/weatherization and at DCED’s Office of Energy Conservation and Weatherization, on the 4th floor of the Keystone Building.
