Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Two Fallen Soldiers

HARRISBURG – Gov. Edward G. Rendell ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags across the commonwealth to be flown at half-staff in honor of Staff Sgt. Bryan A. Hoover, of West Elizabeth, Allegheny County, and Sgt. 1st Class Robert J. Fike, of Conneautville, Crawford County.

Hoover, 29, and Fike, 38, died while serving on active duty in Zabul Province, Afghanistan. Both served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Company C, 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry, in Connellsville.

In Hoover’s honor, flags should be flown at half-staff through sunset on Tuesday, June 22.

Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on June 23, to honor Fike.
