Charges Pending on Four Port Matilda Teens for Burglaries in Halfmoon Township

PORT MATILDA – Four teenagers are facing charges after two were discovered for their part in allegedly burglarizing a cabin and the Halfmoon Little League concession stand late Thursday night.

According to the state police in Philipsburg a 15-year-old and 13-year-old, both from Port Matilda, entered a cabin on Municipal Drive. While inside the two vandalized the cabin. The younger teen reportedly took an axe and went to the Little League concession stand. He then began hacking at the rear of the building in two different locations. Police said he took the axe to the front of the building and was able to gain access. Police said once inside the suspects took candy bars and snacks, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

Troopers were able to identify the suspects involved in the incidents. According to police the 15-year-old was also involved in another burglary at the same cabin. Police learned that another 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, both of Port Matilda, were also involved in that incident.
