BoomerFest Aims to Keep the Tie-Dye Generation Active, Healthy

(GantDaily Graphic)

CLEARFIELD – The first ever BoomerFest – A Life Options Event scheduled for June 19 in downtown Clearfield, will be jam-packed with activities and sessions to  help Baby Boomers and others experience what it means to be well and happy.  From 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., over 50 different life-enriching activities focusing on physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs will be available.  The day is planned primarily for persons age 50 to 60, although younger and older adults might choose to check it out.

Researchers at Yale University found that negative thoughts about getting old have a profound negative impact on people.   A positive outlook on life can not only contribute to wellbeing, but can also increase life expectancy an average of 7.6 years.  Empowering people to fully use their life experiences, skills, cultural and spiritual wisdom, creativity, and energy provides opportunities for them to maintain personal wellness.  BoomerFest has assembled an assortment of presentations that focus on keeping the tie-dye generation healthy, exploring the arts, starting a new business, getting physically active, taking an active role in civic engagement, and  touching base with their roots and spirit.

When you arrive, be sure to register at one of the following locations:  Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., 103 N. Front Street; Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST), 112, E.
