DUBOIS – The dynamic, perennial, creative force known as ReAct returns with an all new line-up focusing on the circle of life. ReAct 2010: Genesisity features more writers, directors, and vignettes than ever before. From touching drama to ridiculous comedy to imaginative, dream-like yarns, there is something to please every palate craving theatre in its purest form.
This year we see things from the playwright’s point of view through Tim Folmar’s and Tony Vallone’s Herding Bunnies. Jaime Rapaport, Jessalyn Penvose, and Gaby DeCarli bring us the anticipated Cindy and Julie. Karl Rebon unleashes his Accept sequel with Exist. Hannah Meholick dives into ReAct as both writer and director with the Alice in Wonderland twist Mad Tea Party. An edgy and whimsical look at the beginning of life spills from the mind of ReAct regular Dave Clark in Meet the Gametes and we are transported even further back in the cycle of life as Greg and Michelle Weible direct The Diaries of Adam and Eve – adapted from the Mark Twain classic. We also get things rolling with a throwback look at The Morning of a Private Eye. Taking us to a trance-like state is Daruis Clement with his imaginative Vicissitudes (per se) . Bringing us firmly back to Earth, Jessalyn Penvose shares a poignant monologue about the loss of a father.
ReAct 2010: Genesisity will be performed on June 17, 18, and 19 at 8:00 p.m. in air-conditioned comfort at the Paul G. Reitz Theater in DuBois. Tickets are $7.00. Sponsored in part by Hallstrom Construction and KTH Architects.
