Philipsburg Woman’s Death Appears Accidental

PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based State Police has initiated an investigation into the death of a 56-year-old Philipsburg woman at an unknown morning hour Thursday.

According to the police report, troopers were contacted by Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers in reference to a deceased woman who was found at a Walnut Street address. They indicated that preliminary findings suggest she died as a result of an accidental overdose of her prescription medication.

Troopers said an autopsy was scheduled for Friday at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. They said the woman’s death is still under investigation at this time.
