Obituary Notice: Carl W. Ellinger

Carl W. Ellinger, age 91, of Ellinger Road, DuBois, PA died on June 10, 2010 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1918 in Akron, OH.  He was the son of Ira & Agnes (Muth) Ellinger.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II where he earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and various other awards.

He married Florence L. (Miller) Ellinger on Dec. 31, 1947.  She preceded him in death on June 1, 2006.

He was self employed as an over the road truck driver and farmer.

He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one brother, James Ellinger of Ohio.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mabel and Ruth.

Visitation will be on June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

 The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a ritual service on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 12:45 P.M. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on June 14 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Chris Ramsey officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
