Commissioners to Petition for Amendment of LT Zoning Map

CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday, the Clearfield County Commissioners authorized a petition to amend the Lawrence Township Zoning Map.

Solicitor Kim Kesner indicated the re-zoning would affect the county’s land in the area of the Multi-Service Center, cornfield and that across United States Route 322.

“We have been working on this for the past year. We see an area that can grow. We’re looking to the future,” Commissioner Joan Robinson McMillen said.

She said they want the 72-acre area to become more attractive for business and industry. She said they would like the land to be re-zoned to limited industrial.

Kesner said the land, which is located near the service center and cornfield, is currently zoned as residential suburban.

Across USR 322, he said it’s zoned residential agricultural, indicating the land was in the area of the Clearfield County Jail.

Kesner said he would proceed forward and file the necessary paperwork with the Lawrence Township Supervisors.
