Search Warrant Executed in Brockway Homicide Case

EMPORIUM – A search warrant was executed in relation to the James Wayne and Victoria Lynn Shugar homicide investigation Thursday, June 3 in Emporium Borough, the DuBois State Police reported.

“At this time, the Pennsylvania State Police cannot release any additional details. (Our) investigation is continuing,” police said.

Police said they were assisted by the Emporium Borough Police Department and the Cameron County Dog Law Officer.

According to a prior report, police were continuing their search for unknown suspects responsible for the homicide that occurred sometime from April 10 – 12 in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

In a press release in May, the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers indicated that both victims were age 61. In addition, the victims were the owners and operators of Flowers and More of Main Street in Brockway.

They were last believed to be alive on Saturday, April 10; police discovered the couple on Monday, April 12. The couple was found shot to death in their Brockway home, the press release said.
