Emergency Responders Dealing with Ruptured Gas Well Off of McGeorge Road

PENFIELD – Emergency responders were called out to deal with a ruptured gas well Thursday night at the Punxsutawney Hunt Club.

According to correspondence received by GantDaily, a gas well owned by EOG Resources ruptured, releasing natural gas into the atmosphere. There was no explosion and an evacuation was issued in a one-mile radius around the site. According to reports the incident resulted in about 1 million gallons of uncontrolled frack water. DEP has been at the scene since 2 a.m. and the Clearfield Emergency Management Agency is on-scene as well.
