William Hayward Johnson III, 60, of Greenville, and formerly of Georgia and California, passed away on May 23, 2010 at the home of his daughter Vanessa J. Baker of Greenville. Mr. Johnson and his daughter Vanessa was the subject of a Tyra Banks show because they were looking for each other and hadn’t seen each other since Mrs. Baker was an infant.
Born Dec. 28, 1949 in Blythesville, AR, he was the son of William Hayward II and Arveda Blanche (White) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a freelance Technical Writer, having worked for several businesses during his working career. Mr. Johnson was Roman Catholic by Faith.
Surviving is his mother of Chickamauga, GA, his daughter and her husband Rev. David Baker of Greenville and a son Adaie Chabella of San Francisco, CA. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Daniel Johann Baker and Nathan David Baker and a sister, Paula Blanche Reese of Chickamauga, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father and half-brother, Robert Reese Jr.
Memorial Services for Mr. Johnson will be held at the Greenville Church of the Brethren, Greenville Pike, Grampian, PA on June 2 at 6 p.m., with the Reverend David A. Baker officiating.
