CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw, Jr. announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of May 24, 2010.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Patricia Harris Aites, age 43, of Diamond Street, DuBois.
Shaw stated that Aites is wanted for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on Aug. 13, 2009. On Jan. 27, 2009, Officer Thomas Gornati of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint charging Aites with: 1) theft of leased property, M1.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Gornati states that on Oct. 4, 2006, Aites obtained a King Trumpet with a cash value of $950.00 under a lease agreement with the victim, Fritz Piano & Organs. The victim attempted contact with Aites by phone and ultimately sent Aites a certified letter with notice that payment was due. Aites signed for the certified letter and failed to make payment for the merchandise.
A Preliminary Hearing was held on May 15, 2009, at which time Aites waived the charge to court. On August 13, 2009, Aites failed to appear for a PreTrial Conference and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Aites is described as follows:
