City of DuBois to Have Watershed Study

DUBOIS – At DuBois City Council’s last work sessionon May 20, City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio mentioned that the city had entered into contract with Casselberry and Associates, Inc. of State College.  Casselberry is a geologist who is doing research in regards to Marcellus Shale. 

In an e-mail to Suplizio, dated May 24, Casselberry outlined his agenda for the watershed study.  Casselberry and Associates, Inc. intends to do the following:

According to the email it should take three field days to perform the stream gauging work.  If the USGS gauges document base flow conditions, and the weather forecast remains dry, Casselberry will conduct the gaging and water sampling work this Wednesday through Friday.

Casselberry will be at the next council meeting to discuss their findings in the water shed study.
