New Main Street Manager Named in DuBois

DUBOIS – The Board of Directors of the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group is pleased to announce the hiring of Karen L. Vanderhoff of Greensburg as the new Main Street Program Manager. She is currently completing a master of arts degree in policy analysis and administration at Duquesne University. Her undergraduate degree is a bachelor of arts in sociology from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.

She has had many related internships during her graduate studies. For the past two years, Vanderhoff  interned at Allegheny County Economic Development. Concurrently, she was a graduate assistant at Duquesne Univeristy, had a summer of 2009 internship with the Borough of Irwin and a winter of 2008 internship with the Greensburg Community Development Center.  She will be starting in early June 2010.

Vanderhoff is replacing Julie A. Stewart who initiated the program five years ago and was subsequently hired as the Program Manager.  She will continue on with the program as a board member and volunteer. Ms. Stewart is opening her own business downtown, a coffee shop directly across from the DuBois Public Library.
