CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County will soon be looking for a new director for its Emergency Management Agency.
According to the Clearfield County EMA’s Web site, Director Josh Quigley will be stepping down effective May 28. He was appointed to the director position on June 18, 2007. The letter was dated May 20, and reads as follows:
Responders of Clearfield County:
Please accept this letter as a formal notification that I will be resigning my position as Director of Emergency Management for Clearfield County, effective May 28, 2010.
It has always been our mission to assist the responders of Clearfield County in their duties, and provide safety and technology upgrades at all costs! We have become a well trained and well respected organization in the past three years. I cannot take full responsibility for this, as the entire staff has dedicated their lives to make your duties easier and safer.
In my opinion the Departments of Emergency Management, 9-1-1, and Hazardous Materials Response have made great strides in the past three years. We have achieved numerous milestones, and continually pushed the bar in the respective fields to achieve the professional excellence we have achieved today.
There have been times when my decisions were not viewed as the most popular, but rest assured, I had the best intentions for all responders in all of the projects and incidents we have assisted with.
Through training and teamwork, it was always my goal that the department would always offer professional service and assistance, even in my absence. I can speak with great confidence that you will continue to receive the level of assistance and support that you have come to rely on.
I leave this position realizing the friendships and professional relationships I have acquired and the mutual respect I have given and received; and hope to continue those in the future. It has been the greatest point of my professional career holding this position, and I wish all of you continued safety and success in your future endeavors.
Thank you for the opportunities you have provided me during my time with the department. If I can be of any assistance during this transition, please let me know.
Yours in Public Safety,
Joshua J. Quigley
