Obituary Notice: Edward S. Kerr

Edward S. “Goose” Kerr, age 52 of Burt Street in DuBois, PA died May 17, 2010 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born on April 2, 1958 in Punxsutawney, PA.  He was the son of the late Edward S. and Emeline D. (Santell) Kerr.

He was a police officer for over 30 years, serving the past 23 years with the City of DuBois Police Department.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Freedom Lodge #93. 

He enjoyed racing cars, and was an avid gun collector.  He earned his B.S. in criminology from Indiana University of PA.  He was a history buff.  He was also a competitive power lifter.

He is survived by one daughter, Emeline S. Kerr of DuBois, PA, three stepchildren:  Lance Corporal Edward Sines of North Carolina, Desiree Smith of Sykesville, PA and Deidre Butler of Sykesville, PA, and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathleen Kerr Knapp.

Visitation will be held on May 21 from 2-9 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on May 22 at 1 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Fr. Marc Stockton officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney, PA.
