Fifth Annual First Bash of Summer to Benefit DuBois Red Cross

The 5th Annual First Bash of Summer Carnival will be June 2 thru June 5 at the DuBois Memorial Park.

Guests can enjoy a bake sale, flea market, raffles, carnival rides and games, and a variety of carnival food favorites.

There are many different crowd pleasers taking place each evening, starting with Sunny 106 live remote on June 2. Also on Wednesday, State Representative Matt Gabler will spend some time in the “Pie in the Eye” booth that evening, and one of the Altoona Curve Mascots, Steamer or Diesel Dawg will also be in the crowd.  Each night balloon animals, face painting, and the crowd favorite “Pie in the Eye” booth will entertain visitors.

The “Eye in the Pie” Booth will feature the Sunny 106.5/WOWQ 102 radio challenge on Wednesday.  Radio personalities, Drew Gordon from WOWQ 102 and Al Lockwood from Sunny 106.5 will compete to see which radio station can raise the most money for the DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Each evening there will be entertainment on the stage including Self Defense demonstrations, Jazz Katt Productions annual karaoke contest, and performances by area bands GlenDale Train, the DuBois Area High School Jazz Band, The Vagabonds, White House Cherry, Chris Hanlon, The DuBois Barbershop Chorus, and Jax Siergega Family Band.

The carnival will run from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3 p.m. to ?? on Saturday.   The 5th Annual First Bash of Summer Carnival will offer a fun four nights for members of the DuBois community and surrounding areas, providing fun and entertainment for all ages.
