Julia Cora Farwell, 87, of Hepburnia, passed away on May 16, 2010 at her residence.
Born Oct. 30, 1922 in Fleetwood, PA, she was the daughter of Warren and Cora (Hauck) Quillman. Mrs. Farwell was a homemaker, is a member of the Gospel Fellowship Assembly in Grampian where she was a long time Sunday School Teacher and also a member of the board for many years.
She was past President of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Grampian, past President of the Grampian American Legion Auxiliary #632, past officer Clearfield County American Legion Auxiliary, past officer of the former Grampian PTA, and was the original organizer of the Grampian Memorial Day Service. She was a notable singer in Grampian.
On April 23, 1949 in Fleetwood, PA, she wed Lee D. Farwell who preceded her in death in January of 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Donald Lee Farwell, 3 brothers and 8 sisters.
Surviving are 7 children: Joel Farwell and his wife Yong Soon of Lancaster, Earle D. Farwell and his wife Nancy, Julie M. Farwell, Norma Butler and her husband Dallas, and Gerald Farwell and his significant other Jane Fuller all of Hepburnia, Martin Farwell and his wife Robin of Pauline, SC, and Lisa Henry and her husband Dr. Eugene of Silver City, NM.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren David Farwell, Joshua Butler, LeeAnn Farwell, Ethan Henry and Timothy Henry, and a sister Sarah Gilbert of Robesonia.
At the request of Mrs. Farwell, there will be no public visitation and a private Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
