CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of May 17, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Natalie A. Kephart, 31, of Old Town Road, Clearfield. He stated that Kephart is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Sept. 18, 2008.

On March 24, 2008, Patrolman Nathan Curry, of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a criminal complaint, charging Kephart with three counts each of forgery; criminal attempt and identity theft.

Kephart was also charged with two counts of theft by deception and theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception and receiving stolen Property.

An affidavit of probable cause, which was filed by Curry, states that on March 21, 2008, the borough police received a report of a theft from a resident who was living at Knickerbocker Villa. The victim reported that her checkbook was stolen from her purse. When she received her bank statement, the victim identified several transactions that were not authorized.

Several of the checks were cashed at Wal-Mart with the transactions being captured on security cameras. At the time of the thefts, Kephart was employed by Knickerbocker Villa. The total amount of loss exceeds $1,000., the court document states.

A preliminary hearing was held on April 9, 2008, at which time Kephart waived the charges to court. On Sept.18, 2008, Kephart failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for Kephart’s arrest.

Kephart is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 255 pounds. She also has green eyes and brown hair.
