Hyde Man Waylaid, Assaulted in Bradford Township

BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – Police are investigating an assault that occurred on Thursday night in which a  Hyde man was waylaid then later assaulted.

According to the state police in Clearfield, the incident occurred between 9 p.m. and 11:22 p.m. in a wooded area off of Independence Road.

The Hyde man told police that he was traveling along Independence Road when he was waived down by a man in his early twenties. He said the man displayed a handgun, got in his truck and made him drive to a wooded area along the road where another man was waiting. This man was waiting in an older style, dark colored Dodge 1500 crew cab with large tires.

The Hyde man was then directed to get out of his vehicle and ordered to give them his wallet. He refused and the men began to assault him. They took his money and wallet and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The Hyde man was taken to Clearfield Hospital or treatment of his injuries.

The first suspect is described as: white, 21-years-old, thin with a shaved head and appeared to be growing a goatee. His left ear was pierced, he was wearing really baggy pants and a dark flannel shirt.

The second suspect was described as: heavyset muscular man with a Jersey accent.

The investigation into the incident continues.
