CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Borough Police Department today warned local residents of a new e-mail scam.
According to the report, police said residents may receive a notice that’s allegedly from the United States Government. In the notice, they said residents appear to be entitled to a refund for several hundreds of dollars.
Police said residents who are the recipient of this scam are requested to submit their credit card number and “other important information.” They urged residents not to reply to the e-mail.
“It is another way for (them) to obtain your personal information,” police said.
Police said anyone who has questions is urged to contact their local police department.
