CLEARFIELD – Miranda Templeton of Philipsburg has been chosen by the Pennsylvania Cooperative Education Association (PCEA) to receive a scholarship to DuBois Business College for one-quarter of the tuition for the coming 2010-2011 school year. Miranda is a cooperative education student at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center.

In order to apply for a scholarship with the PCEA, the student must be in a cooperative education program in a high school or career and tech school throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Applicants are screened on grades, attendance, personal essay, recommendations of teachers, training plan, application, and resume.

The PCEA has a directory of colleges, institutes, schools and universities participating in the scholarship program. Due to the generosity of these post secondary schools, PCEA has the potential to give away over $180,000 each year to deserving students. Since the scholarship program inception 29 years ago, over $2.5 million has been given to the state’s top applicants.

Miranda plans to major in Accounting/Business Administration at DBC. She is currently working her co-op job at Central Penn Vision Associates in Philipsburg. She is the daughter of Jody and Will Templeton of Philipsburg.
