- Police are investigating a robbery that occurred along West Laurel Street in Philipsburg Borough. A Clearfield man reported to police that on May 2 around 8:00 p.m. he was walking on West Laurel Street when he observed a small black car that was driven by a woman stopped near him and four white men and exit the vehicle. Two of them grabbed his arms and pinned him against the side of a building. A third presented and pointed a folding knife at him. The fourth person went through his pants pockets and wallet and stole a large sum of money. He was then slapped in the face a few times. The suspects got back into their vehicle and drove away. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police in Philipsburg.
- A one-vehicle accident was reported to have occurred on US Route 322, one mile west of Hannah Furnace Road in Rush Township. Virginia L. Shumaker, 51 of Summerville, was driving a 2004 Kenworth T600 when she lost control and traveled off the road. The truck hit a small ditch with the right front tire which caused the initial impact. The truck continued traveling along the ditch for 250 feet until it overturned on it’s right side before coming to a final stop facing east. Police were assisted by the Hope and Reliance Fire Companies. The truck was towed by Bricens Towing.
