– Police reported an assault that occurred sometime from 7:30 – 8 p.m. April 19 in Troutville Borough, Clearfield County. A known male juvenile, of Troutville, reported he’d been assaulted by a known male juvenile, also of Troutville. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
– Police reported a single vehicle accident at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Huston Township, Clearfield County. A Warren woman was traveling north along state Route 153 about one mile south of Parker Dam State Park. Troopers said a large black bear emerged from a wooded area in the eastside of the roadway. They said it entered the roadway and directly into the path of the woman’s vehicle. She was unable to avoid striking the bear and maneuvered her vehicle onto the east berm after doing so. They said the bear escaped from the scene. No injuries were reported.
– Police reported an incident of theft that occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. Someone removed a clay statue of St. Francis from a Reynoldsville woman’s yard. Trooper described the hard-carved statue as tan in color and said it stood about 5-foot tall.
