William Milliron, Jr., 80 of State College and formerly of Philipsburg died Monday at his residence.
Born on June 28, 1929 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late William T. and Alta Mae (Fleck) Milliron. He was of the Protestant Faith
He was a 1947 graduate of Philipsburg High School retired after 38 years of service from the former Bell Telephone, Philipsburg. At Bell Telephone, he served as both a lineman and switch board man, working in the Clearfield and Philipsburg area.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean Conflict
He was a life member of the Philipsburg BPOE Lodge #1173, a member of the F&AM Moshannon Lodge #391, Bald Eagle FOP Lodge #51, Clearfield Eagles and Jaffa Shrine.
Mr. Milliron was preceded in death his parents, a sister, Frances Kanouff, and three brothers, Donald F. Milliron, Charles W. Milliron, Sr. and Melvin T. Milliron.
He is survived by two daughter Linda C. DeGroodt, of California, and Betsy Ross, of Hawk Run, and two sons, Terry Milliron, of Philipsburg, and Bill Milliron and his wife, Bettyann, of Milroy.
He was survived by one sister, Helen Jean Kent, of Brockway, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, with Pastor Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Clearfield, where military honors will be conducted by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
