Richard “Dick” L. Powers, age 80 of Spot Road (Sabula area) in DuBois, PA died April 11, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1930 in DuBois, PA. He was the son of Maxwell and Iva Mae (Walburn) Powers.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On April 22, 1957, he married Roxane J. Ferranto. She survives and lives in DuBois, PA.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children: Karen Powers Spellen and her husband, Jim of DuBois, PA, George Powers and his wife, Connie of Punxsutawney, PA, Rick Powers and his wife, June of DuBois, PA, Randy Powers and his wife, Valarie of DuBois, PA, Mike Powers and his wife, Cindy of DuBois, PA, Belinda Curley and her husband, Darrell of DuBois, PA, Michele Ross and her husband, Gary of DuBois, PA and Melissa Shobert and her husband, Scott of DuBois, PA. He is also survived by his two brothers, Emory Powers of DuBois, PA and Ronald Powers of Brockway, PA, one sister, Betty Angelo of DuBois, PA, and nineteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons, Charles Powers and Richard Powers, Jr. and one brother, Daniel Powers.
Visitation will be held on April 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a ritual service on April 14 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held on April 14 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
