Anthony J. “Tony” Strasavich, age 63, of Bel Air, MD, died on April 9, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.
Born in DuBois, PA, he is the son of Dora Strasavich of Sykesville, PA, and the late Anthony Strasavich.
He served our country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and earned the rank of Sergeant. A Harford County resident for 36 years, he earned an MBA at the University of Baltimore in 1979 and went on to work for 32 years in Civil Service serving as Chief, Program Manager for the Chemical Demilitarization, Resource Office before later working at SAIC as a Senior Program Analyst. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and American Legion Post 39. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Strasavich is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna Strasavich of Bel Air, MD; sons, Brian Strasavich of Yorktown Heights, NY and Todd Strasavich of Belcamp, MD; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Strasavich of DuBois, PA. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Fred Strasavich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Msgr. G. Michael Schleupner officiating.
A graveside service will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in DuBois on April 15 at 11 a.m. with Fr. David Foradori officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from St. Joseph Cemetery.
