Three Injured, One Airlifted in Decatur Township Accident

DECATUR TOWNSHIP – A three-vehicle accident at an intersection with state Route 53 resulted in three people being injured. One of those people was airlifted from the scene.

According to state policein Clearfield, a vehicle driven by Coty Frailey of Philipsburg, was stopped and attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of SR 53 and Scott Lane. Dorothy Reams of Osceola Mills was stopped behind Frailey. Police said a 25-year-old Osceola Mills man was talking on his cell phone and did not see the traffic stopped in front of him. He struck the rear end of the Reams vehicle, which then struck the Frailey vehicle.

The Osceola Mills man will be cited. He was wearing a seat belt and did not suffer injuries. Reams was wearing her seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. She was airlifted. Frailey was wearing his seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. He was transported by MoValley Emergency Medical Services. Two children in the Frailey vehicle were wearing their safety equipment and neither were injured.

Police were assisted at the scene by Hope and Rescue Fire Companies, STAT MedEvac, MoValley EMS and Dunlaps Towing.
