Police Report: Ridgway PSP

– Police investigated a death Sunday morning in Jay Township, Elk County. The victim died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence.

– Police reported an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between 4 p.m. March 27 and 4 p.m. Friday in Jones Township, Elk County. A person(s) arrived at a Clarion Street address and damaged two lawn movers that belonged to a 55-year-old Johnsonburg man. Someone rolled them over, causing subsequent damage before fleeing the scene.

– Police reported an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between 12 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A person(s) arrived at a Grant Road address and damaged a 50-year-old Ridgway woman’s mail box.

– Police reported an incident of theft that occurred sometime Friday morning in Jones Township, Elk County. A person(s) arrived at Mefferts Run Road and removed a 25-year-old Wilcox man’s all-terrain vehicle before fleeing the scene. The man’s ATV was described as a 2006 Yamaha Banshee. It is valued at $5,000.

– Police reported an incident of retail theft at 10 a.m. Friday in Fox Township, Elk County. Someone entered the Burkes True Value Store and removed a Hoover Wind Tunnel Self-propelled vacuum from display. The person then placed it in their cart and left the store without paying. The vacuum is valued at $239.99. The person fled the scene in a light blue, two-door Sedan, traveling north on state Route 255 toward St. Marys.

– Police reported control of alarm devices and automatic dialing at 2:08 a.m. Thursday. First Commonwealth Bank, Weedville, was charged due to more than three at fault alarms in a 12-motnh period.
