CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of robbing the Woodward Pharmacy at gunpoint waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Daniel Dotts faces charges of robbery, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and related charges.
According to court records, on March 18 Dotts entered the Woodward Pharmacy located in Houtzdale, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie with the Pittsburgh Steelers logo. The hood was up and Dotts had a camouflage bandana covering his face. Dotts walked to the front desk and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded Oxycontins. Dotts then walked through the pharmacy where a separate clerk handed him the controlled substance. Dotts then fled on foot and ran to a vehicle parked nearby. The vehicle was described as a dark grey Chevrolet Cavalier. After receiving information that Dotts may have been involved with the Robbery, Granville conducted interviews of witnesses that ultimately resulted in the charges being filed against Dotts.
Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins set Dotts’s bail at $500,000.
