Obituary Notice: James F. Grinnen

James F. Grinnen, age 63, of Locust Street in DuBois, PA died on March 23, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on Jan. 26, 1947 in DuBois, PA.  He was the son of the late Calvin and Ellen (Kelly) Grinnen.

He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a bartender at the Swedish American Club in DuBois, PA for many years. 

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars,  Swedish American Club, and the Polish Citizens Club.

He was an avid Boston Celtics fan and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Ellen Sable of Friday Harbor, WA and two brothers, Fr. Jack E. Grinnen of Loretto, PA and Andrew D. Grinnen of Memphis, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on March 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. on March 28 from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 29 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard from the church.

Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
