CLEARFIELD – The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield has announced that they will be holding their 2nd Annual Wing Fling on May 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Clearfield Fair Grounds Expo II Building.

At the Wing Fling you’ll be able to taste wings from several area restaurants and your vote for the best one will help determine the winner of the “People’s Choice” Award.  There will also be fun games and contests, and plan to take part in the silent auction where you can bid on a variety of great items donated by our member businesses and organizations.  Bob E. Day will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event and there will also be celebrity judges to determine who has the best tasting wings in the area.

The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield is still seeking restaurant and other food vendors who would like to participate.  Participants registered so far in the Restaurant Division include Aunt Mary’s Place, Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub, Dinger’s Grand Slam Grille & Groggery, Fun Central, Legend’s Sports Bar, Mighty Fine Foods, and Pizza Hut all of Clearfield, also Down River Restaurant/Express Café & Convenience of Shawville and Clearfield, and Holt Daddy’s Pub of Osceola Mills.  This year there will also be an Amateur Division, which will include wings brought to you from CP Realty and Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  If you’d like to feature your specialty wings by participating in the Wing Fling contact the Chamber by March 31.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Chamber of Commerce office at 125 E. Market St. in Clearfield or by calling 765-7567.  Tickets will also be available at participating restaurants on April 1.  Pre-sale tickets are only $10, or at the door the day of the event for $12.  Children age 6 and under are admitted for free.

After you’ve finished sampling all the tasty wings, be sure to stop by the Central PA Outdoor & Sports Show also taking place at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds May 7-9.  This event features exhibitors, demonstrations and clinics, expert seminars, entertainment and admission is free.  You can also view hunting and fishing products, plan outdoor sport and camping retreats, shop for supplies, gear boats, RV’s, ATV’s and more.  Visit http://www.centralpaoutdoorshow.com/ for more information.
