Residents Urged to Take Part in Great American Cleanup

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Solid Waste Authority is urgin residents to take part in the Great American Cleanup.

Join Pennsylvanians across the state and Americans across the nation in cleaning up litter and trash along roadsides, streams parks forests and neighborhoods. Community and civic associations, school and youth groups, families and friends, business employees, hunting and fishing clubs, conservation organizations, sports teams and others can organize their membersand participate in the Great American Cleanup of PA.

The Great American Cleanup of PA is Pennsylvania’s participation in the national Great American Cleanup sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. Registered events can get free cleanup supplies such as bags, gloves and vests donated by PennDOT and Keep America Beautiful. The Great American Cleanup runs from March 1 through May 31.

Another program, Pick It Up PA Days, is a two-week event that is part of the Great American Cleanup of PA. Sponsored by the DEP and participating landfills, registered events will be able to get free disposal for their cleanups. The Pick It Up PA Days runs from April 17 through May 1 with the focus being on April 24. Once your event is registered you will have access to the list of participating landfills. Local government leaders, business and trade organizations, community groups and ordinary citizens may take part in community cleanups.
