Larry Ray Rubly, Sr. 59, of Clearfield, PA passed away on March 14 at DuBois Regional Medical Center West, DuBois, PA.
Born Feb. 26, 1951 in Clearfield he was the son of the late Ray Harry Rubly and Helen Louise (Stucke) Rubly of Clearfield.
Mr. Rubly was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and had attended Jeff Tech to be a electrician. He was a U.S. Army veteran having received two purple hearts for his service during the Vietnam War.
He had been employed by Bayer Clothing Group for eighteen years and most recently by Appalachian Wood Products.
Mr. Rubly was Methodist by faith
He was a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1875 .
Mr. Rubly is survived by his wife Linda L. (Hummell) Rubly, five children; Larry Ray Rubly, Jr., Heather N. Rubly and Braden C. Stone all of Clearfield, Melissa G. Walker and her husband John of Lock Haven and Damon C. Stone and his wife Tami of Glen Richey, fifteen grandchildren, two brothers; Gary Rubly and Kevin Rubly and his wife Denise and four nieces and one great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents; August and Margaret Stucke, his paternal grandparents; Ray and Florence Rubly, eight uncles and an aunt and a step-sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Rev.Robert Rupp officiating. Interment will be in Stoneville Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield Honor Guard American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services.
