Wilmer Blaine Doran Sr., 89, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday morning March 13, at his residence.
Born May 14, 1920 in Madera, he was the son of Andrew Sr. and Corinda (Kunsman) Doran. Mr. Doran was a coal miner having retired from Lady Jane Mines in Penfield. He was a U S Navy Veteran of World War II, and had attended both the Kellytown and Oak Ridge Union Churches.
Surviving are 7 children: Danney Doran and his wife Joyce, Billy Doran and his wife Shelbia, and Rodger Doran and his wife Sheila all of Birdsboro, PA, Eugene Doran and his wife Kathy of Altoona, Wilmer Blaine Doran Jr. and Suzanne Gill both of Curwensville, and Michael C. Doran and his wife Sueann of DuBois.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a sister Alice Olson of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Earl and Andrew Jr. Doran.
Services for Mr. Doran will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on March 16 at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery new Millport.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 12 Noon until time of services.
Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
