Obituary Notice: Lois J. Moyer

Lois J. (Mayes-Eirich) Moyer, 69, of Clearfield, passed away on March 8 at the Clearfield Hospital.

Mrs. Moyer was born July 24, 1940 in Osceola Mills, PA, the daughter of Harry and Eleanor (Mayes) Eirich.

She was a 1958 graduate from the Osceola Mills High School and had remained an active member in the class reunion committee Mrs. Moyer had been employed by the Clearfield Wal-Mart for fifteen years in the Electronics Department.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Clearfield and had also belonged to the Clearfield Eagles Auxiliary

Mrs. Moyer is survived by two children: a daughter, Valerie “Jean” Fye and her husband Dennis of Bigler and a son, Jeffrey L. Moyer and his wife Kimberly of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren: Lori Denise Fye and Cody James Fye, both of Bigler and Travis Ryan Moyer of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Karen Dixon of Osceola Mills; three brothers: John Eirich and his wife Patty of Tyrone, Arthur “Mike” Eirich of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Jim Eirich and his wife Doris of Osceola Mills. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Moyer, whom she married on May 7, 1960 in the Osceola Mills Church of Christ by Rev. Orrin Remsnyder and who died on April 4, 2006; a brother, Harry Eirich; maternal grandparents, John and Hannah Mayes and paternal grandparents, Oliver and May Eirich .

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 12 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor Sally E. Swenson and Rev. Rodger J. Gorton, co-officiating. Interment will be in the Stoneville Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on March 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.

The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 705 Dorey Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
